Fujiya & Miyagi, Bush Hall London Sept 24th

Another great show at Bush Hall. We showed up about 15 minutes before the opening band came on so we were right in front of the the stage for both sets. Project Jenny, Project Jan kicked the show off. The duo out of Brooklyn plays a mix of pop synth rock dance beats with the occasional mellow pop jam thrown in for good measure.

The lead singer was all over the stage dancing while "Uncle" Ruben was content to work the Mac/turntables in the background. The music wasn't stunning but good enough to get the crowd going. The live show would have been better had they been accompanied by a full band.

Fujiya & Miyagi on the other hand came out and blew the crowd of just over a couple hundred away for 90 minutes. They added a drummer into the mix for several songs but still sounded great as a trio. Highlights were Knickerbocker, Ankle Injuries and Pussfooting. They played a nice mix of songs off Transparent Things and Lightbulbs which was recently released. Both albums are one for the collection but at this point I think it's a toss up on which one is the best. More pictures after the jump...
